NEWS!

BELMONT HOSTS "MUD FUN" WORKSHOP IN CONJUNCTION WITH KIWANIS CLUB
Kids from Blue Angels Elementary School were treated to hands on clay instruction from Belmont Pottery Guild potter Theresa Zahn, Saturday morning, Feb 4th.  Students watched clay demonstrations and then hand built slump dishes and "pinch pockets".  Getting dirty and being in the "mud" was fun and instructional.
The Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon represented by Lorraine Bracher, left, funded the opportunity for the students.  The Belmont Arts and Cultural Center, Pensacola, has partnered previously with the Kiwanis Club to reach out to Pleasant Grove Elementary School, Hellen Caro Elementary School and Global Learning Academy.

KIANGA FORD, VISITING ARTIST
Artist Kianga Ford will not only be providing a lecture at UWF as part of the Genius Loci series - she is also coming to the Belmont! She will be a special guest at Feb. 10th HGCB and will meet with the Belmont Youth Band as well as members of the Belmont Arts Center to begin plans for a collaborative project as a part of her "Walking Back Home" installation project. We are very excited to have her here! - MORE ABOUT MS. FORD >
